The brand hails from a small boutique factory in Nicaragua and that’s pretty much all we know about it. The operation produces other unknown infused cigars but Slainte was the blend that sparked our interest. What makes it stand out is A) it has a fantastic look and feel, B) it burns slow and even thus comes well-constructed, and C) offers a surprising aroma and flavor unlike anything we’ve ever experienced.
Slainte sports a dark, Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that conceals a medium-bodied filler consisting of well-aged Nicaraguan and Dominican long leaves. The combination itself lends to a hearty aroma with thick, earthy flavors throughout. The blend is then infused, not flavored, with herbs and botanicals creating a plethora of sweetness mixed with enjoyably light spices for a smooth, hearty finish. From what we’ve noticed, you should find hints of spice, pepper, earth, pine, cinnamon, oak, some nutmeg influences, and hints of whiskey, among others. Unique without a doubt.
